Our guidelines and management
We use guidelines, management systems, and self-regulation to fulfill our responsibilities toward our employees, the environment, and society:
Business Conduct Guidelines
These guidelines support
a corporate culture that endorses ethical behavior and is committed to lawful conduct. They oppose

Managing occupational safety and environmental protection
All Qimonda production
locations around the world have an integrated system for managing occupational safety and
environmental protection, which is certified according to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. The goal is to
continually minimize the impact our business has on the environment and to improve our employee’s
health and safety.
Particular emphasis is placed on further decreasing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing
resource consumption in the production process. To this aim, Qimonda agreed to the semiconductor
industry’s self-set target of cutting perfluorocarbon (PFC) emissions by 10% below the baseline
year of 1995 by 2010.
To make an effective contribution to energy conservation, our products are checked at the
development stage to ensure that electricity consumption in live operation is as low as possible.
We have pledged our commitment to energy efficiency by joining the Green Grid consortium.
The Green Grid
We are also pushing the use of environmentally friendly materials in our products, helping to
meet the increasing demands of society.

Our diversity management policy ensures mutual respect and equal opportunities in all areas
and at all levels, regardless of race, gender, religion, age, or sexual orientation.

Corporate citizenship
As a company, we have made commitments in the areas of education, health, the
environment, and social standards. Our main focus is on education, where our work takes the form of
specific projects. The activities at our locations are governed by our donations and sponsorship
guidelines.
Numerous social activities already take place at our locations, cementing our reputation as a
good corporate citizen. Based on our donations and sponsoring guidelines, we intend to focus our
activities and align them with our CR strategy.
Each summer, 25 students in Dresden (Germany) have the opportunity to participate in
vocational training as an introduction to the world of work. In Porto (Portugal), we support blood
donor programs and raise money for deprived children. In Taiwan, donations are used to provide
teaching materials for schools and to pay the school fees of children from socially disadvantaged
families. A cooperative project in Richmond (United States) focuses on fostering the abilities of
high school students, who learn about the high-tech industry through courses and an internship at
Qimonda. All this is made possible by the willingness of Qimonda’s employees to make donations.
